IRD COMMENCES OUTREACH SESSIONS WITH LARGE AND MEDIUM TAXPAYERS

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, Wednesday, October 28, 2015:

The Inland Revenue Division (IRD) of the Ministry of Finance and Energy has commenced its outreach sessions on the establishment of a Large and Medium Taxpayers Unit and is receiving very positive reviews from the business community.

The establishment of a Large and Medium Taxpayers Unit is the first phase in developing the IRD as a modern and professional tax service.

The new Unit will provide greater ease of doing business with the IRD through dedicated staff; more customised services and the use of IT platforms.

Several sessions were held last Thursday and Friday (October 22nd and 23rd) with another two sessions scheduled for Thursday and Friday (October 29th and 30th) of this week.

This week, the IRD will partner with the Grenada Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), which will make a presentation on the new Tax Incentives Regime.

Thursday’s session will accommodate stakeholders from the hotel sector while Friday’s session will be open to stakeholders from the other sectors including manufacturing and construction. Both sessions will begin at 9:00 am at the GIDC Conference Room, Frequente Industrial Park, St. George’s.
